Working student/internship communications

  • Location: Remote or hybrid (Brussels)
  • Starting date: September/October 2026

  • Hours: Flexible, 8 to 24 hours per week, planned around your class and exam schedule

  • Duration: 3 to 6 months, with the option to extend

  • Contract: Paid student contract or internship agreement (convention d’emploi étudiant/convention de stage); the exact set-up will be agreed with the selected candidate

About BACC

Bringing back industrial competitiveness through effective climate policy

We are a Brussels-based public affairs agency focused on climate, energy and industrial competitiveness policy. We help early movers shape EU policy through strategic lobbying, coalition-building and policy intelligence. We work across the full policy stack that decides whether a sustainable business case in heavy industry flies or fails in Europe. Our focus includes, but is not limited to: carbon markets, electrification, affordable clean electricity, trade and climate, sustainable chemicals, and cleantech.

We run the secretariat of the Business for CBAM Coalition, which brings together companies and business associations that provide practical solutions to the EU institutions on how to strengthen the EU ETS and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.

The role

  • Help manage BACC’s social media presence on LinkedIn (and Twitter or Bluesky).
  • Support the communications work of BACC-organised events, roundtables and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support BACC’s work on advocacy and campaign activities.
  • Highlight work by Business for CBAM Coalition members on social media. 

Who we are looking for

We are a small and growing team, so personal qualities matter as much as technical knowledge. The essential attributes we are looking for are:

  • Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field, with hands-on social media experience.
  • Fluency in English. French or another EU language are an asset.
  • A collaborative team player, well suited to a small and close-knit team.
  • Curious and willing to learn, with the motivation to grow into the policy detail.
  • Reliable, well-organised, and consistent in following through.
  • Enrolled as a student at a higher education institution and eligible to work in Belgium under the student statute.

What we offer

  • A gross hourly wage of EUR 14 to 16, depending on your profile, in line with the Belgian market for student jobs. Under the student statute, social contributions are minimal, so what you earn is close to what you keep.
  • Flexible scheduling around classes and exams, remote or hybrid in Brussels.

  • A front-row seat to EU climate and industrial policy, including BACC events and roundtables with policymakers and industry leaders.
  • Published, visible work: the content you make goes out under the name of BACC and a coalition of leading industrial companies.
